What Format are the Downloads Available In?
All tracks and albums are available in standard in MP3 format which is a widely-supported industry-standard format that can be played back on any computer using freely-available or commercial software.
This format is supported by all major portable Digital Audio Players, including the Apple iPod and similar portable music players.
What Quality are Downloads Encoded At?
When you purchase an album using the MP3 download option in the String Temple Store, you are purchasing the highest quality music files. Each CD is converted to high-bitrate MP3s using full error correction. These files are much higher quality than most downloadable MP3s which are typically encoded at 128kbps.
Technical Specifications:
- Extractor utilizes full error correction
- Files are either “-v 0” VBR or 320kbps CBR
- Typical VBR Bitrate is 220-260kbps
Do Your Downloads have any Copy Protection, DRM (Digital Rights Management) or other Restrictions?
No, we do not implement digital restrictions of any sort. Customers are free to duplicate files (burn to CDs) as long as it is for personal use. We believe that our fans understand that our artists have sacrificed so much for their art and will act responsibly by recognizing all applicable artist rights.
